As taxis’ strike is paralyzing the ”caput mundi”, hauliers switch off the engine and cross their arm in protestation, putting the country in a difficult situation. From this morning truck drivers are actually on strike because petrol, ticket and Irpef are going to become more expensive for effect of Monti decree.
The protest, which is said to last five days, started in Sicily and spread like wildfire in the whole country, where more than 60 blocks are hindering road traffic on ring roads and at toll gates. Unfortunately, this figure is going to rise, since a large number of people is constantly rallying to the cause.
The most critical junction is in the Neapolitan area, but Piemonte, Lombardia and Abruzzo are also having some bad times and there are lines and inconveniences almost everywhere.
The government is paying great attention to the phenomena and the Minister of the Interior, Annamaria Cancellieri, says: “No more blocks will be tolerated”. To Coldiretti, instead, this strike is illegal, represents a sort of prejudice of citizens right and will be surely to consumers detriment.
